This one is long and narrow – 7.48 inches by 4.53 inches. That shape isn't random. It fits a whole trout or a good portion of lo mein noodles without the food bunching up at the ends. The tray holds 600ml, about 20 ounces, and goes 50mm deep. Not too shallow, not a bucket.
A seafood restaurant in Boston uses these for their grilled salmon with vegetables. The narrow width keeps the fillet from sliding around during delivery. Before they switched to this tray, they tried round containers. The fish always ended up sideways, sauce everywhere. With this shape, the lid folds over and locks it in place. No more messy driver complaints.
The rim is crimpable – you know the drill. Pinch and fold over a cardboard lid. Not for thin soups, but perfect for teriyaki glaze, cream sauce, or anything thick enough to coat a noodle. One Chinese takeout place uses these for their lo mein. The long shape matches the noodle length, so customers don't get a tangled mess. They just pull the lid off and eat straight from the tray.
Making a tray this elongated is harder than a square one. The aluminum stretches differently along the long side vs the short side. If the alloy isn't right, the corners get thin and tear during punching. We use 8011 aluminum with a specific temper – not too hard, not too soft. The press runs slower, around 60 pieces per minute, to keep the wall thickness even. After forming, the trays go through an automatic stacker and are packed into standard export cartons. Quantity per carton varies by size – contact us for exact specs.
Why do noodle shops and seafood places like this tray? Two reasons. First, portion control. 600ml is exactly what most menus call for a single protein-plus-carb plate. Second, stackability. The narrow shape means you can fit more trays in a hot bag compared to wide square containers. One driver told us he used to carry 20 orders per trip. Now he carries 30 with the same bag.
We offer custom lid printing. Your logo, heating instructions, whatever you need. For bulk orders, we can also adjust the thickness – lighter for low-cost takeout, heavier for premium frozen meals. The tray is freezer safe and oven safe. No plastic smell, no warping.
Certifications? BRC, FDA, LFGB. We export to Europe, North America, and Australia.
So if you're running a noodle shop, a seafood joint, or any kitchen that deals with long-shaped food, this 7.48"x4.53" tray is worth a try. It fits the food, stacks tight, and folds shut.
