A long, narrow container that measures 6.54 inches by 2.52 inches. That’s roughly the shape of a finger, or a small loaf of bread, or – if you’re in Southeast Asia – a single serving of roasted durian. The 29mm depth is shallow enough that the heat gets to the center quickly, which matters for something as dense as durian flesh. A dessert shop in Bangkok uses these gold trays for their “durian torch” – a piece of fresh durian, brushed with honey, torched until caramelized, then served right in the tray. The gold interior catches the flame and makes the fruit look like molten gold.
But you don’t need to be a durian fanatic to use this tray. The same shape works for brownie bites, individual banana bread loaves, or even a single portion of lasagna for one. The 200ml capacity is about twothirds of a cup – small but satisfying. A bakery in Portland uses them for their “snickerdoodle bread” slices. They bake the batter directly in the tray, then snap on a plastic lid (available) and sell them at farmers markets. The gold color makes the cinnamon sugar pop.
The lid options are foil or plastic. Foil lids get crimped by hand – quick and secure for dry or semi dry goods. Plastic lids snap on in half a second, better for cold items or when you need visibility. Neither is heat seal film, but the rim works with standard sealers if you ever need leakproof for sauces. Most buyers of this shape aren’t packing liquids. They’re packing solids that happen to be long and skinny.
Packing is 1000 pieces per carton. The carton is 34.5 x 25.5 x 26.5cm – compact, because these trays nest tightly. The gold lacquer is preapplied, so it won’t scratch during stacking.
Why choose a long, narrow tray over a square or round? Two reasons. First, presentation. A square brownie looks like a square brownie. A brownie in a long gold tray looks like a boutique bakery item. Second, portion control. You can slice a standard brownie recipe into 10 long pieces instead of 16 squares, each one looking more generous. A coffee shop uses these for their “single serve banana bread.” They bake the batter, let it cool, put a clear plastic lid on top, and stack them by the register. Impulse buys went up 30% because customers saw the gold tray and thought “treat yourself.”
The 29mm depth is also good for frozen applications. A meal prep company uses these for frozen “breakfast bars” – oats, nuts, honey, pressed into the tray, then frozen. The long shape fits perfectly in a standard lunch bag. Customers pop one out, microwave for 30 seconds, and eat it like a breakfast cookie. The gold tray goes into recycling.
Recycling is straightforward. Rinse or wipe off residue, toss in the bin. The gold coating burns off in the recycling furnace.
So if you’re roasting durian, baking banana bread, or just want a tray that breaks the monotony of squares and circles, this 6.54x2.52 gold long tray is your answer. It’s narrow, it’s shallow, and it makes everything look like a premium gift.
