A 45mm deep tray sounds like a minor variation from a 35mm one. But in heat seal packaging, 10 millimeters changes everything. The air gap between the food surface and the foil lid determines whether the seal holds or fails. At 750ml fill volume (about 40mm of food), a 45mm deep tray leaves a 5mm air gap. That's enough to prevent the liquid from touching the film during sealing. If the gap is too small, hot broth contacts the resin coating before it bonds, creating a weak spot. If the gap is too large, the film can flex during transport and break the seal. 5mm is the sweet spot. We validated this by testing over 2,000 seals in our quality lab, varying fill levels and gap distances, measuring peel strength at 0, 24, and 72 hours.

This 184 by 128 millimeter rectangle is a common size for Indian and Thai takeout curries. A restaurant group in London with 12 locations uses it for their butter chicken and dal makhani. They run a tabletop sealer at each kitchen, apply our foil lids, and stack trays in insulated bags. Their leakage rate dropped from 8 percent (with folded silver trays) to 0.3 percent. Our production environment matters for food safety. The trays are formed in a 10,000㎡ dustfree workshop with positive air pressure and HEPA filtration. That's not typical for aluminum container factories. It's what you'd expect in a pharmaceutical plant. We made the investment because we hold BRC certification, which requires strict controls on foreign body contamination. Every tray is visually inspected before packing. No cardboard dust, no aluminum shavings, no surprises. If you're supplying to a supermarket chain or a airline caterer, they'll ask for BRC. We already have it.

The gold lacquer is functional, not just cosmetic. Standard silver aluminum can react with acidic curries — tomato, tamarind, lemon — leaving a metallic aftertaste. Our coating prevents that. We apply it to 8011 alloy coil from the Gongyi industrial base, then bake it. The coating stretches with the metal during forming, so it won't flake off when you stack the trays.
